OUR MISSION
To build community-centered connections in Southwest Colorado through sustainable art exploration, and responsible use of nature and natural spaces, while engaging in authentic movement and play.
WHO WE ARE
Star Hopper Art Studio, founded in 2024, encourages eco-friendly, creative self-expression using fun and mindful outdoor activities.
ART: Our classes, camps, afterschool, and Friday programming help students of all ages find their artistic style in eco-friendly ways.
NATURE: We aim to encourage a passion for nature by spending time outside, observing, and interacting with the natural environment safely and responsibly. These experiences outdoors serve as inspiration for our art.
MOVEMENT: By engaging in activities like hiking, play, games, and yoga, we connect and grow together, and improve our community.
OUR VALUES
In pursuit of our mission, we commit to embracing these values:
INCLUSIVITY: We reach out to all ages and demographics of people and respect the variety of makers inspired by our natural world.
CONNECTION: We approach teaching and learning with empathy and curiosity, aiming to cultivate meaningful connections and inspire creativity in our community.
COURAGE: We take risks, try new things, and use what we know from the intersection of the arts and sciences to make creative innovations or discoveries.
SELF-DISCOVERY: We explore the complexities of being a human, creating a safe space for everyone to determine their relationship through collaboration and teamwork with the world around them, and to develop a meaningful relationship with themselves.
WELLNESS: We are dedicated to the pursuit of activities and choices that lead to independence and accountability, ultimately supporting a state of holistic health.
OUR GOALS
We commit to building an organization widely recognized for:
Encouraging artists to create responsibly while minimizing impacts to nature and our natural resources.
Creating art and nature programs that cultivate change in the arts industries for sustainable materials use and promoting self discovery.
Ensure people of all cultures and backgrounds have equitable access to both the arts and nature in Southwest Colorado.
